Can I be sure it is safe to enter my credit card details when making an online hotel booking?

YES. A secure link is used when transmitting credit card details online. Note: TravelPlan for PC also stores credit card details for use with fax forms. This information is stored in your preferences and is encrypted. Fax printing/sending is of course not secure.
