Q. How many flights and airlines are included?
A. Over half a million flights from over 750 airlines covering domestic and international flights.
Q. Does TravelPlan include charter flights?
A. No – only scheduled flights are featured but TravelPlan does include low cost airlines such as Ryanair and easyJet.
Q. How can you update the flight information and how often?
A. All licence holders in your company can receive FREE weekly downloads of updated flight data supplied by schedules expert OAG, so your flight information will never be out of date. The easiest way to receive updated flight information is to set the automatic update function within TravelPlan. (Updates on CD-ROM can also be received each month for an additional charge to cover postage. However, we recommend that to ensure you always have the most up-to-date flight data it is best to download the updated flight data from TravelPlan.com each week).
Q. Is the hotel listing worldwide?
A. Yes – and it features a wide range of business hotels along with their star ratings. You will find over 20,000 on TravelPlan, but you have access to more than 50,000 hotels through our online booking engine RoomBooker.com.
Q. Can I specify which airlines and hotels are displayed?
A. Yes – we can customise TravelPlan for you to only display those airlines and hotels that either feature in your company's travel policy or those that give you preferential rates. We can also brand TravelPlan with your company identity if you wish.
Q. What additional downloads or web components are required to run the software?
A. No additional downloads or components – the system requirements are:
- Pentium I or faster
- 32 megabytes of RAM
- Hard disk with at least 70 megabytes of free disk space
- Windows 98 or higher (including Windows ME/NT4/2200/XP)
- Screen resolution of 800x600 or higher
- CD-ROM drive
- Internet connection for downloads of data updates and online booking (if required)
- Printer (if required)
- IE5.5 or Netscape 4.7 or higher internet browser (if required)
Q. Can I have TravelPlan loaded onto my company network?
A. Yes, TravelPlan can be loaded onto a LAN. TravelPlan will be installed on your designated server; each computer requiring access to TravelPlan will then need to be linked to the server. When the product is updated, it is only the server that requires updating. If you have any specific questions on our LAN version please email us.
Q. Does the software automatically prompt my IT Manager to update the LAN version?
A. Yes. The server itself will check the TravelPlan website on a frequent basis for updates and automatically download and install the updates. Each workstation that is linked to the server with TravelPlan installed will check the LAN server frequently to see if any updates are available. If an update is found the workstation user will be prompted to restart TravelPlan to receive the update.”
Q. The download is big (18MB for the software and 7MB for the flight data) is TravelPlan available on CD?
A. You can receive a CD on a monthly basis – for the cost of £20 a year. Flights are updated weekly online and can be updated separately even if you do receive the CD.
